Hello Friends,

Nature and Yoga are Calling! I want to talk to you today about that June feeling. Today is an absolutely gorgeous spring day in New England.  The temperature is in the mid 70’s and the sun is shining. I woke to a symphony of bird songs and now in midday I am watching them flitt from task to task. My spring plants have blossomed and I am enjoying the pinks, purples, and blues of the different varieties of irises. The pansies and violets smile at me as I walk by and my dog is rolling with abandon in the newly mown grass.

Pretty soon I will be moving my indoor yoga and meditation classes to the outside. There is nothing like releasing your feet from the shackles of their winter shoes and having your bare feet make contact with the earth. Sitting in easy pose or lying in savasana with the warm rays of sunshine bathing your body with its healing light, rejuvenates your whole body and releases your mind from the constant barrage of tasks and to do lists. And once the body and mind are relaxed your spirit can soar.

For some people endless to do lists, parties and events prevents them from really embracing the nature around them. So as your meditation, might I suggest that you set aside 10 minutes in the middle of your day to go outside, turn off everything, sit and listen. That’s it. Just sit and listen. Nature is telling you a story. Open your ears, your mind, and your heart to hear.

Until next time, this is Yoga Anita. Peace and love.
